We wanted to encourage them and show off these amazing people. So we asked what we could do. We heard over and over that they would love to try being on film. Frustratingly without on camera work they were having trouble finding on camera work. GRRR
We asked some friends with cameras and equipment if they would be willing to help out and donate a weekend doing something fun. We asked some make-up artist if they would volunteer their time and expertise. We asked Christ the King church if we could use their space for 3 days. We called a caterer and begged for a deal. Then we sent out emails to actors, improvisers, comedians, drag artists, wrestlers and musicians.
We filmed 49 shorts scenes drawing from the spirit of old Hollywood screen tests we eschewed visual perfection in favor of capturing genuine moments and the subjects talent.
Not done yet. We reached out to editors, pestered editors, grovelled to editors and they turned what we filmed into great scenes. Now we begin to bring them to you.
